The Loose Women star, who has appeared on the ITV daytime show since its first episode, recalled the time she met with I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! show producers for a chat about appearing on the annual show, but ended up sending one of them to sleep with her stories.
Nadia spilled that she met up with the show’s team despite not wanting to take part in the jungle’s Bush Tucker trials, but it turned into an awkward encounter when she heard one of the team snoring during their meeting.
She told Express.co.uk: “I went to audition for the jungle and it was a really hot room and a hot day, and I thought I’m not gonna do it if they offer it to me but I thought I’m going to go and meet them because I didn’t know what other jobs they did, the producers.
“But I knew I wasn’t going to do it because I cannot jump out of a plane for anything and I’m terrified of rats. So I met the producers and I thought I’d go in there and tell them all my best stories and we will have a jolly jape and it will be good.
“So I’m sitting there telling them what I think are good stories, suddenly I hear this snoring noise and I turn round and one of the producers was fast asleep.”
“They had actually fallen asleep! Needless to say, I didn’t get offered the job,” she added.
Despite the awkward blunder, it hasn’t put Nadia off appearing on other reality shows, as the presenter revealed she would love her family to have their own.
“What I would really like to do is a reality show with my family because I think they’re great,” she quipped.
The former Celebrity Big Brother star also admitted that she avoids social media after appearing on Loose Women as the panelists often discuss controversial topics that some viewers may be offended by.
“I’ve got this rule that I never look on Twitter or The Mail Online or anything on the day that I do a show because although there can be good stuff written, there’s bad stuff written as well and the thing is I try to be quite unedited on Loose Women.”
The brunette also claimed that she thinks she annoys the show’s audience with her controversial opinions, but insisted she wouldn’t change her views to please them.
She added: “I don’t just say what I think the audience are going to like, I try to be me and I know I p*** off a lot of the audience and I’m irritating or whatever.
“I’m sure I’m quite marmite, so if you keep reading stuff that’s saying anything negative or keep reading stuff that’s positive, you can lose your way with being yourself.”
Nadia Sawalha bravely drank her own urine as part of an experiment on the show earlier this week and admitted she went along with the disgusting challenge after a show producer told her he would do it as well.
She said: “The producer asked me to do it and I was like, ‘I’m not doing that’, and he was like, ‘Come on,’ and I said, ‘Well you wouldn’t do it would you?’” Before checking whether he would do it live on air.
“He’s a real sweetheart our producer and I said, ‘if you do it I’ll do it,’ and he said, ‘OK’, so I was like, ‘Oh s*** I’ve got to do it now,’ and Kaye [Adams] did it too.”
Nadia Sawalha and Kaye Adams have teamed up for their new book called Disaster Chef, out now to buy for £20 at DK.com
